Biography
Early life
Ana Alicia Guerra Morales was born on 18 February 1994 in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. She studied the transverse flute for eight years at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Before music became her profession she worked as a perfume consultant and a waitress, and she also performed in stage musicals.
Career
Guerra first became widely known on the ninth series of the television talent contest Operación Triunfo. She was selected for the programme's academy on 23 October 2017, and in the twelfth live gala, on 22 January 2018, the public chose her as one of the five finalists. She finished in fifth place. During the show she competed for the chance to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with two songs: "El remedio", which she sang alone, and "Lo malo", a duet with her fellow contestant Aitana. Neither was chosen for Eurovision, but "Lo malo" reached the top of the Spanish singles chart and was later sent to the OGAE Second Chance Contest as Spain's entry.
After leaving the programme she recorded "Ni la hora" with Juan Magán, released on 6 July 2018. In December of that year she released the solo single "Bajito". Her first album, Reflexión, came out on 25 January 2019 and reached number two on the Spanish sales charts. She also sang on David Bustamante's song "Desde que te vi" and, in 2019, appeared on stage with artists such as Alejandro Sanz and Juan Luis Guerra. Between September 2019 and January 2020 she toured 16 Spanish cities with her Operación Triunfo castmate Luis Cepeda.
Her second album, La luz del martes, was released on 24 September 2021 and entered the Spanish album chart at number four. In January 2022 she performed at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville as part of her tour Lo que nunca te dije. She released the EP Érase una vez in December 2023, a collection of songs aimed at her fans, and the second part of the project, an album titled Sin final, followed on 27 September 2024. In April 2026 she performed at the OModa Global Music Festival in Wuhu, China.
Guerra has also worked in television and advertising. In November 2020 she presented the New Year's bells broadcast from Santa Cruz de Tenerife for Spanish national television, which drew an audience of about 4.7 million viewers. In 2023 she took part in the third edition of the Antena 3 programme El desafío and became one of the presenters of the RTVE music programme Cover Night. She recorded the Spanish theme songs for two Disney projects, a Christmas short film in 2020 and the film Wish in 2023, where her song was titled "Mi deseo". In November 2023 she took part in the Christmas lighting ceremonies in Madrid and in her home town. She performed at the Platino Awards in April 2024, sang at the Casa de España in Paris in support of the Spanish Olympic delegation in August 2024, and opened the new edition of the reality programme Gran Hermano the following month. She has appeared in campaigns for brands including Camaleón Cosmetic, Skechers and Pronovias, and she sang a Christmas advertising song with Aitana, Lola Índigo, Raoul Vázquez and Agoney.
Guerra names Juan Luis Guerra, Michael Bublé and Luis Miguel among her influences. Her music is classed as pop, she plays guitar and flute, and Universal Music Group is her label of record.
