Davie504 Italian YouTuber Born 1994 in Savona

Davie504 is the online name of Davide Biale, an Italian bassist and YouTuber. He was born on 5 April 1994 in Savona, Italy, and stands 201 centimetres tall. He is associated with slap bass playing, comedy-tinged cover videos and viral challenges, and his YouTube channel had about 13.3 million subscribers in May 2025.

Early life

Biale grew up in Albisola Superiore, a municipality in the province of Savona on the Ligurian coast. The number in his stage name comes from his birth date, the fifth day of the fourth month. He started playing bass guitar while at secondary school, inspired by Gene Simmons of Kiss. He later enrolled at the University of Genoa but left before finishing in order to concentrate on his online career, and afterwards studied music production at a college in London. In 2017 he moved to Brighton.

Career

He opened his YouTube channel in 2011 and from 2012 began posting unusual cover performances. Early examples included a take on Eminem songs played with M&M's, a Korn medley involving corn cobs, and a Red Hot Chili Peppers medley played with real chili peppers. He also took on challenges proposed by viewers in the comments, such as playing a slap bass solo for five hours without a break, and performing a bassline that the producer Deadmau5 had called technically impossible.

His videos also draw on internet culture. During the 2019 contest between PewDiePie and T-Series for the most-subscribed channel, he played a bass version of a song tied to the rivalry outside the T-Series offices. He has made a series reacting to posts from his own subreddit and joined Jared Dines and Steve Terreberry in a contest to play the guitar with the largest number of strings.

On the music side, he released the albums Let's Funk! in 2014, Funkalicious in 2015 and Very Impressive in 2016. Singles include Lighter in 2014, Bass Bass Bass and S L A P P in 2020, Plastic BASS in 2021, and three releases in 2024: Bassless Whisper, Abt. and Virtual Bassanity.

In 2017 the company Chowny Bass released a signature bass guitar carrying his name. In May 2019 the website MusicRadar ranked him second on its list of the twenty hottest bassists in the world. That year he received his YouTube Gold Play Button and worked with Amnesia Guitars to turn it into a custom bass. In 2021 he appeared on the cover of Bass Player magazine. In February 2023 he took part in a music battle against the YouTube duo TwoSet Violin at the Star Performing Arts Centre in Singapore, continuing a feud with them that had run on screen since 2020. It was his first live performance.

In a video published in December 2025, Biale described a sponsorship dispute from around 2020. He said a mobile game company had offered him a deal worth 75,000 US dollars and later demanded that he delete a 2019 comment in which he had written that Taiwan is a country. He said he declined, removed the sponsor's segment from the video and paid for the giveaway prizes himself.

Recognition

His channel has received the YouTube Diamond Play Button and, before that, the Gold Play Button in 2019. MusicRadar's 2019 ranking and his appearance on the cover of Bass Player in 2021 are further markers of his standing among bass players.

Personal life

Biale married a fellow bassist in October 2022; she is an Indigenous Taiwanese woman who first came across his videos online. He lived in Taiwan during the COVID-19 pandemic and returned to Italy in 2022. In May 2026 he announced that he would leave Italy again, citing government inefficiency and high taxation among his reasons. He has named Flea, Gene Simmons, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten as bass players he admires.
