Early life

Élodie Fontan is a French actress, born on 9 July 1987 in Bondy, a suburb northeast of Paris. She began working in front of the camera as a child, appearing in television commercials for the car maker Nissan, the restaurant chain Quick and the theme park then known as Euro Disney. Her first listed screen credit is the 1996 film The Best Job in the World, in which she was billed fourth.

Career

Fontan became better known to French audiences in 2009, when she played Alyzée, the best friend of the title character in the television series Clem, shown on the channel TF1. In the same period she took the part of Aona in the series Second Chance, from 2008. Her work in the 2010s moved toward cinema, and she joined the large ensemble of the comedy Serial (Bad) Weddings, released in France as Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?, in 2014. She returned for the sequel, Serial (Bad) Weddings 2, in 2019, and again for the third film in the series in 2022; in both she is billed third. Directed by Philippe de Chauveron, the three titles are among the best-documented films in her filmography.

A second strand of her career runs through a circle of comedy collaborators. She is part of La Bande à Fifi, a French comedy troupe whose members include Philippe Lacheau, Tarek Boudali, Reem Kherici and Julien Arruti. In 2019 she took a dramatic lead in the mini-series Prise au piège, which was shown on the channel M6 and adapted from a Spanish prison drama; she plays a woman who ends up in prison after being accused of a killing she did not commit. In 2018 she joined the charity ensemble Les Enfoirés. More recent credits include the film 3 Days Max in 2023, the television series Cat's Eyes in 2024, and the 2025 film Anges & Cie, where she plays Raphaëlle with first billing. Her latest listed title is Marsupilami, due for 2026, in which she plays the character Tess.
