Faysal Qureshi Pakistani Actor From Lahore

Early life

Faysal Qureshi, whose surname is also transliterated as Quraishi, was born on 26 October 1973 in Lahore, Pakistan. His mother, Afshan Qureshi, worked as an actress, and his father, Abid Quraishi, had a short acting career of his own. His father died while Faysal was still young. Other relatives have also worked in entertainment, among them his aunt Rozina Qureshi and his cousin Saima Qureshi, whose son Daniyal Khan is an actor as well.

Career

Qureshi started out as a child performer on the state broadcaster PTV, where his early appearances included the plays Emergency Ward and Andhera Ujala. As a young adult he took small parts in television serials before receiving his first leading role in 1999, playing the character Boota in the serial Boota from Toba Tek Singh. That part is the one for which he first became widely recognised in Pakistan.

He later took on a wide range of roles in dramas such as Masuri (2005), Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan (2009), Meri Ansuni Kahani (2009), Main Abdul Qadir Hoon (2010), Qaid-e-Tanhai (2010), Kis Din Mera Viyah Howay Ga (which ran from 2011 to 2018), Roag (2014), Rang Laaga (2015), Khalish (2018) and Muqaddar (2020). In 2014 he played the lead in Bashar Momin, which became the first Pakistani drama to be broadcast on Indian television. Biographical sources put the number of projects he has been part of at more than 200. In 2015 the outlet Daily Pakistan reported that he was being paid three million rupees per episode, which placed him among the best-paid television actors in the country.

His film acting debut came in 1992. In 2017 he moved into production through the company Connect Studios, and he also runs a film production house under his own name, Faysal Quraishi Films. In 2023 it was announced that he would make his Punjabi-language debut in the action thriller Mango Jatt, directed by Abu Aleeha.

Public roles

Alongside acting, Qureshi has worked extensively as a presenter. He fronted the morning programme Muskurati Morning with Faisal Qureshi on TV One from 2010 to 2014, and from 2016 to 2019 he presented the morning show Salam Zindagi on ARY Zindagi. He also hosted the reality series Hero Banney Ki Tarang and the game show Jeet Ka Dum on Hum TV, and later became the host of another game show, Khush Raho Pakistan, on BOL TV. He has sat on the judging panels of the competition programmes Dum Hai To Entertain Kar and Nachle.

On 30 July 2019 he was named a goodwill ambassador for the Children's Literature Festival.

His work has also touched music. In 2021 he took part in the musical television series Kashmir Beats, where he performed the duet "O Yaara" with the actress Faryal Mehmood as part of the first season's studio format.

Recognition

Biographical sources credit him with more than twenty nationally recognised awards for his work in television.

Personal life

Qureshi has two children. On Instagram he had about 1.8 million followers as of October 2026.
