Hafu American Twitch Streamer Born 1991 in Newton

Hafu is the online name of Rumay Wang, an American Twitch streamer who was formerly a professional player of World of Warcraft, Bloodline Champions and Hearthstone. She was born on 18 April 1991 in Newton, Massachusetts. Streaming has been her main focus in recent years, and her Twitch channel has more than one million followers.

Early life

Wang was born in Newton to Chinese immigrant parents who came from Beijing. She grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, and graduated from Lexington High School in 2010 after taking a year out for her esports career. Friends introduced her to the online role-playing game World of Warcraft while she was in high school. She went on to study at Bentley University but left without finishing in order to concentrate on gaming.

Career

Wang began taking World of Warcraft seriously in 2007, when the game added its player-versus-player arena mode. At that point she was not aware that people could play video games for a living. Her skill attracted sponsors, and their support allowed her to travel to Major League Gaming in 2008 and to a number of other tournaments in the years that followed.

She later changed to another arena game, Bloodline Champions, and with her teammates MegaZero and Iverson she won the DreamHack Summer 2011 championship. In recent years she has concentrated on live streaming, though she has still entered some tournaments, Hearthstone among them. Several thousand viewers regularly watch her broadcasts.

In late 2015 she was featured on Smasher's Legends of Gaming. On 15 August 2019 she joined the organisation G2 Esports as a streamer of Teamfight Tactics. In September 2020 she won the second PogChamps chess tournament. That same month she began streaming and posting videos of Among Us, often playing with other well-known streamers such as Disguised Toast, dakotaz and xChocoBars. The game's rise in popularity helped make her the second most-viewed female streamer in November 2020, behind only Valkyrae. She has also spoken publicly against sexual harassment in the gaming world. Her YouTube channel had about 275,000 subscribers as of May 2025.

Recognition

Her most notable competitive results are the DreamHack Summer 2011 title in Bloodline Champions and the 2020 PogChamps win.

Personal life

On 13 April 2021 Wang married David "Dogdog" Caero, who is also a Twitch streamer.
