Biography

Early life

Huddy, whose full name is Cole Chase Hudson, was born on 15 May 2002 in Stockton, California. He took an early interest in fashion and, as a child, came across pop punk through bands such as My Chemical Romance, Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy, which he first heard on his older sister's music player.

He attended Bear Creek High School for his first two years. He then moved to online schooling so that he could keep growing his social media career, and he finished high school early by taking three extra classes each semester.

Career

Hudson started out on musical.ly, the app that became TikTok. In December 2019 he was one of the people who founded the Hype House, a TikTok collective that also brought together creators such as Daisy Keech, Alex Warren, Kouvr Annon and Thomas Petrou. He also runs a YouTube channel, which had around two million subscribers when last counted in April 2025, and his Instagram account had more than 8.7 million followers in October 2026. He is represented by the talent agency CAA.

He is credited with popularizing the e-boy look, a fashion style and subculture associated with TikTok. He was formerly known as LilHuddy.

In December 2020 he signed with Interscope Records, the deal arranged by Adam Mersel, even though he had recorded only a few rough demos by that point. In January 2021 he appeared opposite Sydney Sweeney in Downfalls High, a film adaptation of Machine Gun Kelly's album Tickets to My Downfall. The film premiered on 15 January 2021 and drew more than 16 million views over its first weekend.

His music followed in quick succession. His debut single, "21st Century Vampire", came out on 21 January 2021. The second, "The Eulogy of You and Me", appeared on 18 February and was co-written and produced by Travis Barker. A third single, "America's Sweetheart", followed on 22 April, and its video included a cameo from the dancer and internet personality Charli D'Amelio. In August he released "Don't Freak Out" with Iann Dior, Travis Barker and Tyson Ritter, and he announced his first album, Teenage Heartbreak, which was released on 17 September 2021.

His other screen credits include How to Lose a Popularity Contest, a film, and a 2022 credit for The Hype House, his earliest listed screen title. In 2026 he took part in the Fox series Nation's Dumbest, and he won the title that gives the show its name.

Recognition

In 2020, Billboard magazine placed him among the ten leading music influencers on TikTok that year, noting a following of more than 30 million people on the platform and describing him as one of its most influential figures.

Public roles

Outside his own releases, Hudson is known as a cultural figure of the TikTok era. He names Justin Bieber, BTS, Shawn Mendes, Billie Eilish and One Direction as influences on his sense of fashion. For music, he points to Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, Olivia Rodrigo, My Chemical Romance and Blink-182.
