Joffrey Lauvergne French Basketball Player From Mulhouse

Joffrey Lauvergne is a French professional basketball player who plays as a power forward and centre. Born on 30 September 1991 in Mulhouse, he is 206 cm tall and has played in France, Spain, Serbia, Russia, the NBA, Turkey, Lithuania and Kuwait.

Early life

Lauvergne trained at INSEP, the French national sports institute in Paris, from 2007 to 2009. In 2009 he moved to Chalon-sur-Saône to join the professional squad of Élan Chalon.

Career

At Élan Chalon he won the French league in 2012, the French Cup in 2011 and 2012, and the Leaders Cup in 2012. He averaged 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in the French league before the club released him on 25 November 2012. Three days later he signed a short-term contract with Valencia in Spain's ACB, averaging 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds over five games.

On 28 December 2012 he agreed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Partizan Belgrade. His first half-season there was strong enough that the Memphis Grizzlies selected him 55th overall in the 2013 NBA draft and passed his rights to the Denver Nuggets, though he stayed in Europe. In 2013–14 he became Partizan's captain after the regular captain was injured, the first foreign player to hold that role at the club. He led the EuroLeague in rebounding that season with 8.6 per game while scoring 11.1 points over 24 games, and he was picked for the ABA League Ideal Team alongside Bogdan Bogdanović. Partizan took the domestic title, beating Crvena zvezda 3–1 in the final series.

In June 2014 he signed with Khimki in Russia, averaging 9.4 points and 4.4 rebounds over 27 games before leaving in February 2015. He joined the Denver Nuggets that month and made his NBA debut three days later with 8 points and 3 rebounds in a loss to Oklahoma City. His 22 points against Sacramento on 19 February 2016 was a career high at that stage. The Nuggets traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder in August 2016, and in February 2017 he went to the Chicago Bulls as part of a multi-player deal. He signed with the San Antonio Spurs in July 2017 and scored a career-best 26 points against Denver on 13 February 2018.

He returned to Europe with Fenerbahçe in July 2018 on a two-year contract. In July 2020 he signed with Žalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania and extended his deal in January 2021. A shoulder injury in October 2021 kept him out of most of the 2021–22 season. He moved to the French club ASVEL in June 2022. In October 2025 he joined Kuwait SC, and on 15 April 2026 he signed again with Partizan, competing in the Serbian league, the ABA League and the EuroLeague.

Recognition

Lauvergne is a member of the senior French national team. He won gold with France at EuroBasket 2013 and bronze at the 2014 World Cup, where he averaged 9.2 points and 5.3 rebounds over nine games. His Chalon honours of 2011 and 2012 are among his early titles, and his selection to the ABA League Ideal Team in 2013–14 was the standout individual recognition from his first spell in Belgrade.

Personal life

Lauvergne keeps his private life out of public view. In interviews he has said that he is married.
