Synopsis
Avengers: Endgame is a 2019 superhero film directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. It follows the events of Avengers: Infinity War and serves as the conclusion to a long run of connected films from Marvel Studios.
The story opens in the aftermath of a catastrophe. The villain Thanos has wiped out half of all living things, and the heroes who remain are left grieving and unsure how to continue. Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans, Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, and Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson, regroup with the other survivors, including Clint Barton, played by Jeremy Renner, and James Rhodes, played by Don Cheadle.
Their first attempt to set things right does not go as planned, and the film then moves forward several years. Each hero has dealt with the loss in a different way, and some have left the team life behind. A new possibility appears when Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, brings an unexpected discovery to the group, and the former allies must decide whether to take a risk once more.
