Synopsis

Fight Club is a 1999 psychological thriller and drama directed by David Fincher. Much of it is told in flashback, through the voice of a man who is never given a name.

Edward Norton plays this narrator, an office worker whose life has become a numb routine of work, furnished rooms and sleepless nights. Desperate for some kind of relief, he starts attending support groups for illnesses he does not have, and finds that being surrounded by strangers' real troubles lets him finally rest. That fragile comfort is disrupted by Marla Singer, played by Helena Bonham Carter, who is doing exactly the same thing.

On a flight home he meets Tyler Durden, a confident, unpredictable soap salesman played by Brad Pitt. After an accident leaves the narrator without a home, he moves in with Tyler. The two begin trading blows in a parking lot, purely to feel something, and others soon ask to join. What starts as a private outlet grows into a secret gathering with its own rules, drawing in men such as Robert Paulson, played by Meat Loaf, and Angel Face, played by Jared Leto.
