Synopsis
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is a 2007 fantasy swashbuckler directed by Gore Verbinski. It is the third chapter in the series and picks up directly after the events of Dead Man's Chest, with the seas under growing pressure from forces that want piracy gone for good.
Lord Cutler Beckett, played by Tom Hollander, now commands the waters and has Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) working at his side. Together they hunt pirate ships across the world, and the free-roaming sailors of every ocean begin to see that their way of life may not survive another year. The only real hope is to bring the scattered Pirate Lords together, but the council cannot meet in full without Captain Jack Sparrow, who has been lost beyond the edge of the living world.
Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) throw in their lot with Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and the surviving crew of the Black Pearl. Their plan is an uneasy one: travel to the farthest reaches, find a way to the place where Jack is held, and bring him back. Each member of the party has a private reason for the voyage, and trust is thin from the outset. What follows is a long, strange expedition by sea that stretches from crowded port towns to waters no chart describes, with loyalties tested at every stop.
