Ophélie Meunier French Journalist Born 1987 in Versailles

Early life

Ophélie Meunier was born on 17 December 1987 in Versailles, in the department of Yvelines, and later grew up in Nice. Her first television appearance came at a very young age, in June 1992, when she took part in the children's show L'École des fans on Antenne 2, hosted by Jacques Martin. As a child she also appeared in catalogues for La Redoute and 3 Suisses, and at twelve she took part in the talk show C'est mon choix.

After a scientific baccalauréat, which she passed with distinction, she worked as a model with the agency Metropolitan. She spent about five years travelling for modelling work in France, other European countries and the United States. In 2011 she began studying journalism at the École supérieure de journalisme de Paris, and she is credited as both a journalist and a model.

Career

Meunier started her television career in 2012 as an assistant presenter and completed an internship at the news channel I-Télé. In November 2012 she auditioned for the weather presenter role on Canal+, but she was not chosen. The next year she joined Le Petit Journal, the programme hosted by Yann Barthès on Canal+, where she presented the segment "La Minute Pop". In September 2014 she moved to another Canal+ programme, La Nouvelle Édition, and presented a new segment there.

In the summer of 2015 she presented the day and evening news bulletins on Canal+. From September 2015 to June 2016 she hosted a media programme called Le Tube on the same channel. These roles gave her wider exposure as a presenter beyond her early work in entertainment segments.

In 2016 she moved to the channel M6. She has hosted the investigative newsmagazine Zone Interdite since September 2016, succeeding Wendy Bouchard. From July 2016 she has also been the substitute presenter for the evening news programme Le 19:45 on the same channel. Her work for M6 has made her one of the channel's recurring presenters of documentary and news programming. As of October 2026 she had about 433,000 followers on Instagram.

Recognition

In 2022 Meunier was made a Knight of the National Order of Merit, a French state honour. It is the only award recorded for her, and it marks her work as a television journalist and presenter rather than her earlier modelling career.

Personal life

Meunier is French and was born in the Paris region. She has spoken publicly about her early years in a household that belonged to the Mormon faith, and she has mentioned that her father worked in alarm sales. Apart from this background, her public profile is based on her work in journalism and television, and no further private details are included here.
