Breaking Bad is a 2008 AMC TV series created by Vince Gilligan, directed by Vince Gilligan, Adam Bernstein, Jim McKay and others. It stars Anna Gunn, Aaron Paul, Dean Norris and others.

Synopsis

Breaking Bad is an American crime drama and thriller series created by Vince Gilligan, first broadcast on AMC in 2008. It blends black comedy with the tense, sun-baked feel of a contemporary Western, and it ran for 62 episodes.

The story opens in New Mexico with Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, a high school chemistry teacher who is stretched thin by money worries and a family that depends on him. His wife Skyler, played by Anna Gunn, is expecting another child, and his teenage son Walter Jr., played by RJ Mitte, lives with a physical disability. When Walter receives a grim medical diagnosis, he starts weighing how to leave his household financially secure.

His answer is to put his scientific skill to use in the illegal drug trade. He teams up with Jesse Pinkman, a former student of his played by Aaron Paul, and the two begin cooking and selling product while hiding it from everyone around them. Walter's brother-in-law Hank Schrader, played by Dean Norris, works in drug enforcement, which keeps the pressure close to home as the first season unfolds.
