Akiho Yoshizawa Japanese Actress Known for The 33D Invader

Early life

Akiho Yoshizawa was born on 3 March 1984 in Tokyo and is a Japanese actress. She is listed at 161 centimetres tall. Her first public exposure came in 2002, when she appeared as a gravure model in a weekly manga magazine. In early 2003 a photobook of her was published, and a few weeks later she began her screen career.

Career

In March 2003 Yoshizawa signed with two adult video studios, Alice Japan and Max-A, and she alternated between them until the middle of 2006, usually releasing about one title a month. Near the end of 2006 she changed studios. Her first release for the newly started Maxing came in October 2006, and she made her debut for S1 No. 1 Style in January 2007. She stayed with both companies for many years. In April 2015 she completed her hundredth original release for Maxing, which made her the studio's longest-serving performer. By 2018 she had appeared in more than a thousand titles, counting compilations. She also took part in early 3D productions at the end of 2010 and the start of 2011.

Alongside this work, Yoshizawa acted in pink films, direct-to-video features and television. She appeared in the TV Tokyo series Jōō, which ran for twelve episodes in late 2005, and returned as a guest for its 2009 sequel. In 2007 she played the ninja heroine in the video feature Lady Ninja Kasumi Vol. 4. From April 2008 she was a regular on the Osaka late-night variety programme Please Muscat, and from 2008 to 2013 she belonged to the idol group Ebisu Muscats.

Mainstream film roles followed in 2008. She played an alien seductress in the science-fiction comedy Spy Girl's Mission Cord #005 and the part of Makoto in the drama Hanky-Panky Baby. She then led the action film Deco Truck Gal Nami, about a woman who drives a decorated truck inherited from her father. It was followed by three video sequels. In the same year she played the title character in Maid-Droid, which reached cinemas in January 2009. Her later screen work includes The 33D Invader in 2011 and the Korean thriller Maze: Secret Love in 2015.

On 1 October 2018 Yoshizawa announced on her blog that she would leave adult video in March 2019. Her last releases came out that month, and a final fan meeting tour ran from January to 31 March 2019. This ended a career of about sixteen years. After retiring she worked as a special counsellor at a men's clinic in Tokyo, started a podcast, and opened a YouTube channel in 2020. On 28 March 2020 she published an autobiographical novel, 16 Years as an AV Actress, which looks back on her career and experiences.

Recognition

Yoshizawa's first year in the industry brought a nomination for Best New Actress at the 2003 X City Grand Prix Awards. Her pink film Fascinating Young Hostess: Sexy Thighs was named best film at the 2006 Pink Grand Prix, where she also received a Best Actress award, and she was named Best Actress at the 2006 Pinky Ribbon Awards for pink film work. In 2007 she won Best Actress at the Vegas Night awards, and one of her S1 releases took second place there. At the December 2008 Moodyz Awards she finished second for Best Actress. A Maxing release starring her won Best Program at the Adult Broadcasting Awards in February 2013. In a 2012 customer poll held by the distributor DMM to mark thirty years of adult video in Japan, she placed third among the hundred best performers of all time.

Yoshizawa was married to John A Widness from 2008 to 2016. Her English-language profile does not list any notable children.
