Early life

Choi Hye-seon was born on 22 June 1998 in Seoul, South Korea. She lived in the United States until middle school and then went to an all-girls high school in Korea. At Ewha Womans University she majored in bioinformatics within the life sciences department and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. During her studies she held internships at the Department of Biomedical Sciences of Seoul National University and at Cipherome, a start-up based in Silicon Valley.

She later studied at Durham University in the United Kingdom, where she completed a master's degree in data science, bioinformatics and biological modelling in October 2024. Her official diploma was awarded in January 2025.

Career

Choi worked as a model before she became widely known. Her earlier clients included Andar, Round Lab, Joy Gryson, Nature Republic and 29CM, along with the international names Swarovski, Sulwhasoo and Maybelline. In 2021 she also took part in a modelling job featuring the group Enhypen, a fact that drew attention only after her public profile rose.

Her breakthrough was the Korean dating reality series Single's Inferno, in which she was among the cast. Her following on Instagram grew from about 2,000 to 1.6 million while the programme aired, and she was the first member of the cast to pass one million followers. After the broadcast she stepped back from social media for a period, and she later returned, appearing at brand events. She went on to a second reality programme, Game of Blood, and her return to that franchise was reported to have produced the highest number of new paid subscriptions the series had recorded on the streaming platform Wavve. The season ranked first in viewing time for six consecutive weeks. The female cast, Choi among them, was nominated at the Blue Dragon Series Awards in the female entertainer category.

Alongside television, her modelling work expanded. In June 2024 the skincare brand Dentiste named her the face of a new campaign, and later that year she modelled for lululemon and became a brand ambassador for Sergio Tacchini, operated by F&F, for the rest of the year. Other assignments included campaigns for Olay, Fila and Skin Food, and she appeared in volume 33 of Olive Young's My Precious editorial at the end of 2024. She also took part in a shoot for Dazed with the rest of the cast while the series was still on air, and modelled for Alice + Olivia after the finale.

In early 2025 she attended the Ganni show at Paris Fashion Week and the EENK show. She also modelled for Max Mara in Granada, returned to the label for its runway collection in Milan, and joined its global launch event in Florence. Further engagements included Calvin Klein, a global influencer event hosted by Longchamp in London, and the No.21 spring show. She co-hosted the first episode of Olive Young's programme These Days All Young with Park Hye-rim. By early 2026 she was working as a data science consultant, and she was chosen as a model for Allergan's Skinvive and Juvéderm.

She began a YouTube channel after the series ended, initially meant for ASMR content. As of April 2025 the channel had 271 thousand subscribers.

Public roles

Choi has supported charity campaigns. She took part in a children's campaign for World Vision International and later in the Stop Ring Challenge, which raised funds for a village in Zambia. In May 2024 she contributed to a Green Allure initiative that planted 4,000 jasmine trees in the Ichon area of Hangang Park in Seoul.
