Biography
Duki, whose real name is Mauro Ezequiel Lombardo, is an Argentine rapper, singer and songwriter. He was born on 24 June 1996 in Buenos Aires and became one of the best-known performers of Latin trap in Argentina. He rose from the country's freestyle rap battle scene and later toured in the United States, Latin America and Europe.
Early life
Lombardo was born in the Almagro district of Buenos Aires and raised in La Paternal. His father is a graphic designer and his mother a lawyer, and he has a brother, Nahuel, and a sister, Candela. The family listened to Argentine rock, salsa, disco and Latin pop at home. In his early teens he developed an interest in punk rock and hip-hop, listening to Linkin Park, Eminem and 50 Cent, and he began following the underground rap battles that had a loyal audience in Argentina. Inspired by local rappers such as Kódigo and Tata, he started practising freestyle with friends. He left secondary school before finishing.
Career
Duki entered his first rap battle in 2013 and won. He formed a crew called Atuanorinos Tripulación and took part in events such as Las Vegas Freestyle and Madero Free. Around 2015 he began appearing at El Quinto Escalón, a competition held in Parque Rivadavia in Buenos Aires. He won it in 2016, beating Nacho in the final, and the prize was studio time to record a single. The result was "No Vendo Trap", recorded in November 2016. Its video was removed from YouTube after the producer of the sampled track filed a copyright claim.
In 2017 he signed with Mueva Records and released "She Don't Give a Fo" and "Hello Cotto" with producer Omar Varela. Both passed 100 million views on YouTube. He also appeared on Khea's single "Loca" with Cazzu and Bad Bunny. In 2018 he formed the trio Modo Diablo with YSY A and Neo Pistea, and they sold out the Teatro Gran Rex in March. That year he turned down offers from Sony and Universal, sat on the jury of the Red Bull Batalla de Gallos in Argentina and appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone Argentina. His December 2018 single "Sin Culpa", with DrefQuila, peaked at number six on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100.
Modo Diablo split in 2019 as its members pursued solo careers. Duki released "Goteo" on 6 August 2019, which reached the top ten in both Argentina and Spain, and followed it with his first studio album, Súper Sangre Joven. He founded his own label, SSJ Records, that year.
In 2020 he appeared on Bad Bunny's album YHLQMDLG on the track "Hablamos Mañana" and released the EP 24 on his birthday, with a guest appearance from Juicy J. His second album, Desde el Fin del Mundo, came out on 22 April 2021 and reached number one among digital albums in Argentina. In June 2021 he released a live recording, Vivo Desde el Fin del Mundo, from a concert held in El Calafate with the Perito Moreno Glacier as a backdrop. He then began the Temporada de Reggaetón series, with the first installment appearing on 25 November 2021 and Temporada de Reggaetón 2 following in 2022. In 2022 he also joined producer Bizarrap for volume 50 of the Bzrp Music Sessions.
The albums Antes de Ameri (2023) and Ameri (2024) were followed by two world tours, the A.D.A Tour in 2024 and the Ameri World Tour in 2025. On 29 May 2025 he played a sold-out show at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, premiering the single "Golfista". He released "No Me Alcanza" on 24 June and the mixtape 5202 on 7 July 2025, with Clúster and Zell as featured artists. His other listed releases include the singles "Party en el barrio" (2022), "Como Si No Importara" (2021) and "Wacha" (2021).
Recognition
The single "Goteo" received a nomination for Best Rap/Hip Hop Song at the 21st Latin Grammy Awards, and "Hablamos Mañana" was nominated for Best Urban Fusion/Performance at the same ceremony. Desde el Fin del Mundo entered Spotify's Global Album Debuts chart at number three, and the first Temporada de Reggaetón installment placed in the top three of that chart as well.
Public roles
Duki is a member of the group Modo Diablo. In October 2020 he released an interview series on YouTube called Fideos con Duko, in which he spoke with Argentine artists and, for Mother's Day, with his own mother. In 2021 he appeared in a series of collaborations with the NBA on YouTube.
