Early life

Fabiola Campomanes Rojas was born on 30 July 1972 in Mexico City. She trained at the Centro de Educación Artística, the acting school run by the broadcaster Televisa, and she also studied film and television direction at UCLA. She is a Mexican actress who has worked mainly in telenovelas.

Career

Campomanes started acting in 1993 in Los parientes pobres, where she shared the screen with Lucero and Ernesto Laguardia. She then appeared in a series of telenovelas for Televisa, among them Imperio de Cristal and María José, both in 1995, and Los hijos de nadie in 1997.

Her first leading role came in 1998 in Azul tequila. She followed it with La calle de las novias in 2000 and, in 2003, Ladrón de corazones, in which she was a co-protagonist. That production is the earliest entry on her listed screen credits. A year later she appeared in Historias y testigos: ¡Ni una muerta más!, one of the few film titles on her record.

In 2006 she returned to telenovelas in Duelo de pasiones, taking the part of the villain Thelma. In 2008 she played another antagonist, Alice, in Las tontas no van al cielo, alongside Jacqueline Bracamontes and Jaime Camil. The same year she was in the film Lokas. In 2009 she accepted the lead in Niños ricos, pobres padres, a production for the network Telemundo.

She went back to Televisa in 2010 for Teresa, where she portrayed the innocent Esperanza opposite a cast that included Angelique Boyer and Sebastián Rulli. Once that production finished, she took on a double role as twins in Amorcito corazón, a 2011 telenovela that has the widest international coverage among her credits, with articles in eight language editions of Wikipedia. In 2014 she played Jennifer in Mi corazón es tuyo, her second co-starring part, with Silvia Navarro, who had also been in La calle de las novias.

In 2016 she moved from Televisa to the network TV Azteca. Her most recent credit on record is the series Diario de un gigoló, from 2022, in which she has a prominent billing. It is also the title that she is now most often associated with. Altogether, five screen credits are listed for her, two films and three television series, spanning 2003 to 2022, though her telenovela work is considerably more extensive than that list suggests.
