Aakanksha Singh Indian Actress From Jaipur

Aakanksha Singh is an Indian actress who was born on 30 July 1990 in Jaipur. She works mainly in Hindi and Telugu productions and has also appeared in Kannada and Tamil films. Her screen work covers television serials, feature films and web series, and she is known for Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Devadas (2018) and Escaype Live (2022).

Early life

Singh was born in Jaipur, in the state of Rajasthan. Her mother works as a theatre artist, and Singh herself began in the performing arts through the stage. She trained as a physiotherapist before committing to acting.

Career

Singh started out in theatre and made her screen debut in 2012 with the Colors TV serial Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha. She played Megha Vyas Bhatnagar, a widowed mother of two, opposite Kunal Karan Kapoor. The show ran for two seasons until 2013, and her performance earned her the Indian Telly Award for Fresh New Face (Female). In 2015 she appeared in the limited series Gulmohar Grand, which was set in the hotel industry, as Anahita "Annie" Mehta Fernandez. The following year she played for the team Ahmedabad Express in the Box Cricket League, and in 2017 she took the role of a lawyer in an episode of Aye Zindagi.

Her film debut came in 2017 with the Hindi film Badrinath Ki Dulhania. In the same year she entered Telugu cinema with Malli Raava, in which she appeared opposite Sumanth. The film received mixed to positive reviews, and her work in it brought a nomination for the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut in Telugu.

In 2018 she appeared opposite Nagarjuna in her second Telugu film, Devadas, which was well reviewed and commercially successful. That year she also took part in two short films, Methi Ke Laddoo and Qaid. Her Kannada debut followed in 2019 with Pailwaan, in which she acted opposite Sudeep; the film was released in five languages and performed at an average level at the box office.

Singh made her web debut in 2021 with the Telugu series Parampara, which streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. In 2022 she entered Tamil cinema with Clap, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual film starring Aadhi Pinisetty that was released on SonyLIV, and she then appeared in the Tamil film Veerapandiyapuram, which drew negative reviews. In the same year she played the wife of the character played by Ajay Devgn in the Hindi film Runway 34, a project that received mixed to positive reviews.

Her first Hindi web series was Escaype Live on Disney+ Hotstar, in which she portrayed a police officer. She also featured in the Hindi series Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti, opposite Viineet Kumar, and in the Telugu anthology Meet Cute, which was produced by Nani.

Recognition

Singh won the Indian Telly Award for Fresh New Face (Female) for her first television role, and she received a SIIMA Award nomination in the Best Female Debut (Telugu) category for Malli Raava. In 2019 she placed twelfth on the Bangalore Times list of the 30 most desirable women. She has also worked as a brand ambassador for products including Bru, Complan, Saffola and Evion.

Personal life

Singh married Kunal Sain, a marketing professional, in 2014 in Rajasthan.
