Early life

Jazmín Tatiana Pinedo Chau was born on 19 August 1990 in Lima, Peru, the only child of Teódulo Santiago Pinedo and Libertad Chau. She started out as a model for tourism agencies in the Junín region. In 2005 she was chosen as Miss Selva Central, and in 2006 she took second place in the Miss Junín contest. In 2008 she was crowned Miss Teen Perú.

Career

After winning Miss Teen Perú, Pinedo signed as a model for Very Verano, a contest programme on América Televisión. She made her acting debut in 2011 in the film El Buen Pedro, directed by Sandro Ventura, which was released in 2017. In 2017 she also appeared as Korina in the film Somos Néctar. In 2012 she worked on a project with the model Tilsa Lozano.

In 2013 she joined the reality competition Esto es Guerra and stayed until 2015. That year she began working as a presenter on the contest show Combate on ATV, alongside the actors Renzo Schuller and Gian Piero Díaz. In 2016 she moved to Latina Televisión to host the entertainment programme Espectáculos, succeeding Karen Schwarz. Soon afterwards she co-hosted Los Reyes del Playback with Jesús Alzamora and Cristian Rivero, and she also presented the talent show Yo Soy.

In 2018 she travelled to Italy to work for the footwear brand Bata. That year she joined the cast of the telenovela Torbellino, 20 Years Later, playing Miriam Saavedra. She presented El Último Hincha Peruano and worked as a reporter during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Her assignment drew public criticism, with commentators questioning her experience in sports reporting. She said her role would be to cover events surrounding the tournament and the Peruvian national team rather than the football itself. In September 2018 she stood in as presenter of Tengo algo que decirte for the lawyer and former dancer Lady Guillén, who was on maternity leave, and she presented the dance show Los Cuatro Finalistas: Baile. She also released a cumbia version of the Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato single "Échame la culpa" with the singer Deyvis Orosco.

In 2019 she presented a relaunched Espectáculos until the end of April and then the morning show Mujeres al mando, alongside Karen Schwarz and Magdyel Ugaz, on Latina. In 2020 she left Latina for América Televisión to host Esto es Guerra. The move was criticised on social media, particularly after reports that her Latina contract had not yet expired, and she was sued for 450,000 soles for breach of contract. She presented the programme, in its version called Guerra and co-hosted by Gianpiero Díaz, until 2021, when she was replaced by Johanna San Miguel.

Her credited screen work in film is listed as Somos Néctar, from 2017. Her professional activity also includes business ventures, and she is recorded as a businessperson as well as a television presenter.
