Early life

Luca D'Alessio, who performs as LDA, was born on 27 March 2003 in Naples. He is the son of the Italian singer-songwriter Gigi D'Alessio. Growing up in a musical household, he took an early interest in music and began writing and composing his own pieces. He works as both a singer and a rapper, and the genres attached to his releases are pop rap and Latin pop.

Career

LDA released his debut single, "Resta", on 27 March 2020, which was his seventeenth birthday. A second single, "Vediamoci stasera", followed with the Italian rapper Astol and the Spanish singer Robledo as guests. In March 2021 he put out "Vivimi", and later that year he appeared on his father's album Buongiorno, singing on the title track and on the single "Di notte".

His public profile grew in 2021 when he took part in the twenty-first season of the television talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi. He reached the final stage and placed fifth in the singers' category. While the programme was on air he released the singles "Quello che fa male", "Sai" and "Scusa". "Quello che fa male" was certified platinum and later received a Spanish-language version, and the title was also used for a 2021 album.

In April 2022 he released "Bandana", which was certified gold and came ahead of his first self-titled release, LDA. It entered the Italian FIMI artists chart at number 3. Other 2022 singles included "Io volevo solo te", "Cado" and "Lo que mas nos duele". In 2023 he took part in the Sanremo Music Festival with "Se poi domani", and the year also brought the album Quello che fa bene, with singles such as "Promesse", "Granita" and "Castello di sabbia".

The following years kept up a steady release pattern. In 2024 he issued "Rosso lampone" and "Nun è cos", and in 2025 came "Shalla" and "Attimo eterno". On 30 November 2025 it was announced that he would return to Sanremo in 2026 alongside the singer Aka 7even. The pair performed "Poesie clandestine", which is also the title of an album from 2026. Another single from that year, "Santa", and a later one, "Andamento lento", appear in the same period. Across his career the records list four albums and twenty-one singles between 2020 and 2026.

His YouTube channel had 64.1 thousand subscribers when last counted in May 2025.

Recognition

LDA's early commercial results include a platinum certification for "Quello che fa male" and a gold certification for "Bandana". His first self-titled release placed third on the FIMI artists chart on its debut. He has been selected twice for the Sanremo Music Festival, in 2023 and again in 2026, which is among the most visible stages for Italian pop artists.

Personal life

His father, Gigi D'Alessio, is a well-known Italian singer-songwriter from Naples, and the two have worked together on record, notably on the album Buongiorno in 2021.
