Livingston American Singer Born 2002 in Dallas

Early life

Livingston, whose full name is Drake Jon Livingston Jr., was born on 11 July 2002 in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in nearby Denton and attended Coram Deo Academy. He is an American singer-songwriter and musician.

As a boy of about twelve he set up a small videography business, an experience that drew him toward storytelling. Soon afterwards he began writing songs, bought a MIDI keyboard and started producing his own recordings in his bedroom. He has named Macklemore and Jon Bellion among the artists who shaped his music.

Career

Livingston began his professional path by posting cover versions on the social media app TikTok. After several of them found an audience, he signed with Elektra Records. On 19 February 2020 he released his debut single, "Fairytale". Over the following months he put out three more singles, and on 15 July 2020 he issued his first extended play, Lighthouse.

In 2021 and 2022 he released further singles and a second EP, An Unlikely Origin Story. During that period he also performed as a supporting act for Fitz and the Tantrums in 2021. He left Elektra in early March 2023.

Early in 2023 he opened for Witt Lowry on the North American tour If You Don't Like The Story Write Your Own, which ran from February to April. On 3 March 2023 Macklemore released the album Ben, and Livingston was featured on its track "Sorry". At the end of the same month he released "Lifetime", his first single as an independent artist, issued through his own label under licence to Republic Records. Five more singles followed, among them "Last Man Standing" and "Half Life", before his debut album.

That album, A Hometown Odyssey, came out on 8 March 2024. It entered the Canadian Albums chart at number 92. He announced his first North American headline tour, named after the album, on 26 February 2024, and went on to add dates in Europe and the United Kingdom. All 27 shows announced for North America, the United Kingdom and Europe sold out. On 22 July 2024 he announced a second North American leg covering 26 cities that the first leg had not visited, and on 4 November a further European leg was announced, with 17 cities.

In January 2025 he announced the single "Brainstorm" for release on the 24th of that month. He followed it with a deluxe edition of the album, A Hometown Odyssey: The Story Continues, released on 7 March 2025 with nine additional tracks. A new tour, The Story Continues Tour, accompanied the reissue and was planned for 22 cities in the United States and four in Canada.

His music is classed as pop. By February 2025 his YouTube channel had reached 1.8 million subscribers.
