Synopsis
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a 2002 fantasy adventure film directed by Chris Columbus and the second in the series. It picks up as Harry's summer break comes to an end.
Harry Potter, played by Daniel Radcliffe, spends the holidays once more with the Dursleys, including Petunia Dursley, played by Fiona Shaw. A strange warning from a small visitor tells him he should not go back to Hogwarts, but he returns anyway, travelling with his friend Ron Weasley, played by Rupert Grint, and joining Hermione Granger, played by Emma Watson, at the start of a new school year.
The term brings a new teacher for Defence Against the Dark Arts, the charming and self-promoting Gilderoy Lockhart, played by Kenneth Branagh. Severus Snape, played by Alan Rickman, remains a stern presence in the dungeons, and Professor Flitwick, played by Warwick Davis, teaches charms. Before long, odd events disturb the castle. Eerie messages appear on the walls, and rumours spread about a hidden room, said to have been sealed long ago. Harry hears an unexplained voice that no one else can, and he and his friends begin asking questions about what lies behind it.
