Tibo InShape French YouTuber With 25.9M Subscribers

Early life

Thibaud Delapart, who is known online as Tibo InShape, is a French YouTuber and entrepreneur born on 19 January 1992 in Toulouse. He studied at Toulouse Business School, and it was during his final year there that he began posting bodybuilding videos on YouTube under the pseudonym that later became his public name.

Career

His early audience grew sharply once he added humour to his advice on training and nutrition. Catchphrases from his videos, such as the exclamation "Daaamn!" at the opening and the expression "énorme et sec", meaning huge and lean, became familiar among French-speaking viewers. He filmed much of his early material in his own room with a friend. In 2015 his online success allowed him to start an internet clothing brand, and in 2016 the magazine Libération listed him among the ten most influential French accounts. A track titled "Énorme et sec" was released the same year.

As his reach increased he was able to film in more places and to meet public figures, including Christophe Lemaitre, Maïva Hamadouche and Esteban Ocon. In December 2017 the programme Quotidien named him YouTuber of the year, and his videos were by then drawing about a million views each on average. In September 2017 he opened a weight room. He published a book with Lyle-Agnès Champart, Soyez une légende, through Michel Lafon in August 2017.

In 2018 he filmed two videos inside the Albi remand prison and then three discovery videos about the forensic science institute of the French Gendarmerie. After that he moved away from bodybuilding content toward videos about different lifestyles and about popular or lesser-known occupations. A video published on 20 March 2019 on the work of an embalmer prompted much discussion among his subscribers.

Between 2017 and 2019 he produced a number of institutional videos for the French Army, the Navy, the police, the prison administration and the Service national universel. These videos totalled about 4.5 million views by July 2019, and the news site Slate reported that they received government funding of between 20,000 and 30,000 euros. In August 2019 a public debate arose over the promotion of the Service national universel by him and other French YouTubers, because the sponsor was not named explicitly in the videos, which were only marked as commercial communication.

He also released music. His discography lists "Énorme et sec" in 2016, "Clash Juju Fitcats" and "Réconciliation" in 2020 and "Anniversaire (QDH)" in 2021.

His YouTube channel has more than 25 million subscribers, and he is described as the most followed French-speaking YouTuber.
