Squeezie French YouTuber With 19.8M Subscribers

Early life

Lucas Adrien Hauchard, who works under the name Squeezie, was born on 27 January 1996 in Vitry-sur-Seine, France. He attended the Lycée Descartes and passed his baccalauréat while his online channel was already attracting a large audience.

His first experiments with YouTube came when he was a child. In May 2008 he opened a channel devoted to the online game Dofus, which held only two videos and went quiet within weeks. A second channel, created in November 2010, also centered on video games and stopped after three uploads. In 2011, at the age of 15, he started the channel that he still uses, adopting the pseudonym Squeezie.

Career

The 2011 channel focused on video game reviews and commentary. By the age of 17 he had passed one million subscribers, which made him the youngest French person to reach that number on the platform. His videos at that stage drew around 300,000 views each. In April 2013 he and the French YouTuber Cyprien launched a joint gaming channel, first called CyprienGaming and later renamed Bigorneaux & Coquillages. It stopped publishing in 2019.

During 2014 he was accused of copying the Swedish creator PewDiePie, which he answered in a video. The same year, the statistics site SocialBlade ranked him as the most popular French YouTuber, and he appeared in YouTube Rewind 2015. In 2017 he took part in the television game show Fort Boyard alongside Cyprien. He overtook the creator Norman in subscriber numbers in June 2018 and passed Cyprien a year later, becoming the French-language creator with the most subscribers. His channel later grew beyond 19 million subscribers.

Over time he moved from game commentary toward videos in which he plays real-life games with other creators and public figures, and videos recounting true stories. In September 2018 he opened a second channel, Squeezie Gaming, which hosts edited versions of his Twitch broadcasts. He began streaming regularly on Twitch that year, and his account has passed three million followers. One live event that he took part in with other well-known French streamers, including Gotaga and Locklear, reached a peak of 395,000 simultaneous viewers.

In 2022 he organized GP Explorer, a motor racing event for streamers and YouTubers. It grew from a fundraising goal of 100,000 euros set during the fourth ZEvent charity stream, and he announced the details on Twitch on 5 April 2022. The first edition took place on 8 October 2022 at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans, with 22 participants in eleven teams. About 40,000 people attended in person, and more than a million viewers watched at once on Twitch. The second edition, held at the same circuit on 9 September 2023, had 24 participants in twelve teams, including the rappers SCH, Soso Maness and Kekra. A third edition ran from 3 to 5 October 2025.

Hauchard also works in music. His first song appeared in 2017 in a video made with Maxenss. In 2019 he and the YouTuber Joyca wrote and recorded the single "Bye Bye" in three days as part of a challenge against two other creators, whose entry "Mirador" was picked as the winner by the singer Gims. "Mirador" later received a gold certification, and both songs were performed at the Solidays festival in 2019. His first album, Oxyz, was released on 25 September 2020. He has also lent his voice to French versions of the films The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, in which he played Kyle the Seagull, and Ratchet & Clank, in which he voiced Ratchet.

Together with Gotaga and Brawks, he founded the esports organization Gentle Mates, whose teams compete in games such as Valorant, League of Legends and Age of Empires. In January 2024, Prime Video released Merci Internet, a five-episode documentary series directed by his collaborator Théodore Bonnet, which follows his life from childhood to online fame.

Recognition

YouTube awarded his channel its Silver Play Button in 2011, the Gold Play Button in 2013 and the Diamond Play Button in 2018. He won an award at the 22nd NRJ Music Awards in 2020 and a ForYouAward in 2022. The magazine Forbes included him in its 30 Under 30 lists in 2021 and again in 2024.
