Biography
Early life
Yung Beef is the stage name of Fernando Galvez Gómez, a Spanish rapper, singer and producer who was born on 23 January 1990 in Granada. Public information about his childhood and schooling is limited, and his biography begins in earnest with his move into the Spanish trap scene in the early part of the 2010s.
Career
Yung Beef first drew attention as a member of PXXR GVNG, a trap collective that later became known as Los Santos. The group is described as the first trap collective in Spain to sign with a multinational company. He later set up his own imprint, La Vendición Records, which he runs and which appears as the label on his releases. Over the years his work has been classified as trap and Spanish hip-hop, and he is known for blending Latin trap with salsa and reggaeton. He has also drawn attention for his fashion choices and has worked as a model.
His mixtape series A.D.R.O.M.I.C.F.M.S. helped him reach a wider audience within Spanish rap. The first instalment came out in 2013, and the second, made with the producer Steve Lean, followed in 2015, with productions credited to Steve Lean and 808 Mafia. A fourth volume appeared in 2018 and a further instalment, numbered 4 1/2, in 2023. Between these he released a long list of other projects, usually in mixtape form. They include #Freemolly with Steve Lean in 2014, Trunks Future Bricks in 2015 and Fashion Mixtape in 2016. In 2016 he also issued La Última Cena together with Fly Migo Bankroll.
Another recurring series is Perreo de la Muerte, which began in 2015 and continued with a second part in 2019 and a 2.5 edition in 2020. In 2017 he released Kowloon Mixtape, and in 2018 he put out El Plugg Mixtape along with Traumatismo Kraneoencefálico, a collaboration with Goa; a sequel to the latter appeared in 2025. The year 2018 also saw the compilation Grandes Clásicos, which gathered earlier tracks. In 2020 he released Shishi Plugg, Lágrimas and Sonrisas, followed in 2021 by El Plugg 2 and Gangster Original. The El Plugg series continued with two parts of El Plugg 3, titled Ova 1 and Ova 2, in 2025 and 2026.
Beyond his own releases, he wrote and recorded the track Dinero De La Ola for Mixtape Volume 1, a project connected to the footballer Neymar Jr. and the sportswear brand Nike.
In March 2017 Yung Beef and several other international artists were refused entry to the United States and so could not perform at the South by Southwest festival.
His fashion work has run alongside the music. In the summer of 2016 he appeared in a Calvin Klein advertising campaign, and he modelled for the label Hood By Air during Paris Fashion Week. These engagements brought his name to audiences who did not follow Spanish rap closely.
As of October 2026 his Instagram account had about 653,000 followers, the largest of his social media audiences.
Recognition
No major awards or nominations are recorded for Yung Beef. His public profile is documented mainly through his catalogue of mixtapes, his part in Spain's trap scene and his fashion and sport-related projects.
Public roles
Besides performing, Yung Beef runs his own record label, La Vendición Records, which appears as the label on his releases. His earlier group, PXXR GVNG, later known as Los Santos, was the first trap collective in Spain to sign with a multinational company.
