Dominic Roque Filipino Actor From Cavite City

Dominic Roque is a Filipino actor, model and television host, born on 20 July 1990 in Cavite City. He first worked as a model and moved into acting in 2010. He is best known for the television series Aryana and May Isang Pangarap, and for the horror film Seklusyon, which won a record number of awards at the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Early life

Roque grew up in the province of Cavite in the Philippines. His full name is Dominic Karl Manalo Roque, and he is a nephew of the actress Beth Tamayo. He attended high school at the Imus Institute, finishing with the batch of 2007, and went on to earn a degree in tourism at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

Career

Roque started out in modelling and endorsement work before he turned to acting. He has been a model with the Cosmopolitan Talent Agency since 2008, and he modelled for the Philippine clothing brand Penshoppe.

His first screen appearance came in 2010 in the soap opera Habang May Buhay, where he played a character named Mark. His first major part followed in 2012 in the fantasy drama series Aryana, in which he played Hubert and was paired on screen with Ella Cruz. While the series was in production, he made guest appearances on the programme Bandila and on the morning talk show Kris TV.

Aryana ended in January 2013, and he then signed for a second major role in the daytime drama series May Isang Pangarap. In it he played Alvin, a character written as arrogant, and he was paired with the young actress Erin Ocampo.

In June 2013 he made his film debut in Pagpag, an entry in that year's Metro Manila Film Festival. The cast included Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. On 25 December 2016 he appeared as Fabian in Seklusyon, a horror thriller that was another entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival, this time for the 2016 edition.

Roque has also worked as a television host. Alongside his acting, he owns a company called Black Peak Hypermedia Production, which makes audio-visual presentations and digital advertisements for other businesses.

Recognition

Seklusyon received eight awards at the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival, which was the largest number given to any film in that year's competition.
