George Takei, born 20 April 1937 in Los Angeles, is an American actor. Audiences know him from Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986).

George Takei was educated at University of California, Berkeley; Sophia University; and University of California, Los Angeles.

Career

The earliest credit on record for George Takei is Battle of the Coral Sea (1959). During the 1960s, he worked on Star Trek: The Original Series (1966, as Hikaru Sulu) and The Green Berets (1968, as Captain Nim).
