Hibiki Ōtsuki Japanese Singer Born 1988 in Otaru

Early life

Hibiki Ōtsuki was born on 21 February 1988 in Otaru, on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. Structured records give her height as 162 centimetres and her nationality as Japanese. Reference sources describe her as an adult video actress and an idol singer, and the Wikidata entry lists her occupations as adult video idol and pornographic film actor.

Career

Ōtsuki has been active in the Japanese adult video industry since 2008. She did her first shoot in July of that year and made her debut three months later, in October 2008. Her first appearance was in an amateur pick-up title, Gyaruma Nanpahame MAX Vol.2, and her first credited release was a title put out by the Ran Maru label on 17 October 2008. In her first years she worked as a freelance "project actress", meaning she had no exclusive contract with a major agency or studio. That left her working with small independent producers, and sometimes in minor or uncredited parts in ensemble productions. She has called the early period difficult, saying that she struggled to find good roles and often considered retiring, and that she kept going because of encouragement from a small but loyal group of fans and her own determination.

Her opportunities grew over time. She came to work with better-known companies such as Wanz Factory and REAL Works. Her early image was the gyaru, or "gal", style, with dyed brown-blonde hair, tanned skin and heavy make-up, but around late 2011 she shifted to a more natural look with glossy black hair and lighter make-up. By 2012 she was working with larger studios including Moodyz and Soft On Demand. Her consistency and work ethic are cited as reasons for her rising popularity, and by 2014 she was considered one of its most dependable performers. Over her career she has accumulated more than 2,100 credited video appearances.

Outside her main line of work she made a V-Cinema debut in 2014 in the action thriller Assassin Maria. In 2015 she appeared as herself in the video game Yakuza 0, supplying both her voice and her likeness. She developed a close working relationship with the fellow performer Yui Hatano, and the pair, known together as HibiHata, co-starred in many productions after their first collaboration and became well known as a duo with a friendly rivalry.

In August 2016 she joined Yui Hatano and Ruka Kanae in T♡Project, an idol group that specialises in anime and Vocaloid songs. By 2021 she was represented by the agency T-Powers while continuing to work with a range of production companies. Her Instagram account had about 845,000 followers in October 2026.

Recognition

In 2013 Ōtsuki won two prizes at the Adult Broadcasting Awards and placed fourth in the Best Actress category of the Pink Film Awards. She won Best Actress at the Pink Film Awards the following year. On 13 May 2016 she received the Best Actress Award at the DMM Adult Awards, which she has described as a major turning point that encouraged her to continue her career.

Personal life

Her stated hobbies include snowboarding, shopping, making wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets), skateboarding and sleeping in after waking up. She also plays the piano.
