Kartikeya Gummakonda was born on 21 September 1992 in Hyderabad, where he also grew up. His parents own a group of schools in the Vanasthalipuram area of the city. He studied at the National Institute of Technology in Warangal and, after graduating, decided to pursue a career in acting.

Career

Gummakonda is an Indian actor who works mainly in Telugu cinema. He made his screen debut in 2017 in Prematho Mee Karthik. He then appeared in a few more films, none of which received a theatrical release, so his breakthrough waited until 2018, when he starred in RX 100, directed by Ajay Bhupathi. The film was a commercial success and brought him recognition as a lead actor.

The year 2019 was a busy one for him, with four releases: Hippi, Guna 369, Nani's Gang Leader and 90ML. For Hippi he trained to look convincing in the role of a kickboxer. Guna 369 was inspired by a real incident that took place in Ongole. In Nani's Gang Leader he played the antagonist, Dev, which was his first villain role. The director, Vikram Kumar, had cast him after seeing his work in RX 100, and the performance earned good reviews. He followed that with a lead role in 90ML, which was also released in 2019.

In 2021 he played Basti Balaraju, a hearse driver who falls in love with a widow, in Chaavu Kaburu Challaga. In the same year he starred in Raja Vikramarka as an officer of the National Investigation Agency. In 2022 he appeared in Valimai, an action film headlined by Ajith, as the antagonist, listed in the cast as Naren, also known as Wolfranga. The film marked his debut in Tamil cinema, and it is listed as his best-known title on this site.

His next release was the village comedy-drama Bedurulanka 2012, which came out in the second half of 2023 and performed well commercially. His most recent release in the available record is Bhaje Vaayu Vegam, produced by UV Creations and directed by the debutant Prashanth Reddy.

Recognition

Gummakonda's public recognition rests mainly on RX 100 in 2018, the commercial success that made his name. No award wins or nominations are recorded for him. Two of his later films stand out in the record: Nani's Gang Leader, where he played an antagonist and received positive reviews, and Valimai, in which he appeared in the Tamil industry for the first time.
