Mariah Angeliq American Singer From Miami

Early life

Mariah Angeliq was born Mariah Angelique Pérez on 7 August 1999 in Miami, Florida. Her father is Cuban and her mother is Puerto Rican. She was named after Mariah Carey, who was a favourite singer of both her mother and herself. Spanish was her first language. She learned English quickly after she was enrolled in a school in New Jersey.

Career

Angeliq began writing songs at the age of 16 and set out to build a career in music. She came into contact with the reggaeton producer Nely, who guided her in her early years and helped bring Spanish-language lyrics and sounds into her repertoire. She signed with Gold Star Music in 2018 and later with Universal Music Latin, and Universal Music Latino is the label named in the records. Her first single, "Blah", came out on 28 June 2018.

In 2020 she released a project called Normal on 31 July. That summer she took part with the Italian singer Elodie and the Gipsy Kings in "Ciclone", a single by the Italian producers Takagi and Ketra. The records list "Ciclone" as her earliest release, from 2020. On 5 March 2021 she put out a single with J Álvarez and Marie Monti titled "Billete".

Her best-known collaboration is "El makinón", a duet with the Colombian singer Karol G that appears on Karol G's album KG0516 (2021), which reached number one. Angeliq was a featured artist on that record and sang the track as a duet. The two performed the song at the Premios Lo Nuestro awards in April 2021. They shot the video in New York City, where they play two women on the run in the manner of Thelma and Louise. According to the figures available in July 2023, the video had been viewed 962 million times on YouTube since it was uploaded in March 2021. The records give it, together with "Socadona" (2021), as one of her two singles from that year. Her 2021 work also includes the album La Tóxica.

Her music is classified as Latin trap and reggaeton. Among her influences she names the reggaeton artist Ivy Queen as her musical idol. In March 2025 her YouTube channel had about 1.2 million subscribers, and her Instagram account had about 1.6 million followers in October 2026.

Recognition

No award wins or nominations are recorded for Mariah Angeliq. Her profile rests mostly on the reach of her collaborations, in particular the duet with Karol G, which became one of her most successful releases as well as one of Karol G's.
