Lennon Stella Canadian Singer Born 1999 in Oshawa

Lennon Stella is a Canadian singer-songwriter and actress, born on 13 August 1999 in Oshawa. She first became known as a member of the sibling duo Lennon & Maisy and as a cast member of the television series Nashville. Since 2018 she has released music as a solo artist, working in pop and indie pop with rhythm and blues influences. Her YouTube channel had about 240,000 subscribers when it was last counted in May 2025.

Career

Stella began performing with her younger sister, Maisy Stella, as the duo Lennon & Maisy. From 2012 to 2018, she played Maddie Conrad in all six seasons of the musical drama Nashville. Alongside the acting, she wrote and sang a number of songs that were used on the show's soundtrack.

In January 2018 it was announced that she had signed a record deal, which marked the start of her solo career. That year she was a featured vocalist on "Polaroid", a single by Jonas Blue and Liam Payne. On 16 November 2018 she released her first extended play, Love, Me. It included the previously released singles "Bad", "Breakaway" and "Fortress". The record has been described as a dance-club release.

Her 2019 activity centred on live work and collaboration. In May and June she opened for Anne-Marie on the Speak Your Mind Tour, and later in the year she was a supporting act with 5 Seconds of Summer on the Chainsmokers' World War Joy Tour. On 24 July 2019 she released "Takeaway", a single made with The Chainsmokers and Illenium. She also headlined her own Love, Me Tour in 2019, followed by a concert tour that ran into 2020, and she played at the Lollapalooza festival in 2019.

Her debut studio album, Three. Two. One., came out in 2020. Critics wrote about it favourably, and it reached number 80 on the US Billboard 200. The single "Kissing Other People" was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Another 2020 single was "Summer Feelings". A headlining tour planned to support the album was cancelled.

In 2021 Stella worked with her sister again on "While You Sleep", a song on the soundtrack of the HBO Max film The Fallout. She also issued the independent singles "Fancy" and "Bubble" that year, followed by "Thank You" in 2022. In January 2022 she recorded a cover of "Hey, Beautiful" by The Solids, which was used as the theme song for the series How I Met Your Father.

In August 2026 she announced a second studio album, titled Sleeping Lion, and shortly afterwards released its lead single, "Unforgivable Things".

Recognition

In February 2020 Stella received a Juno Award in the Breakthrough Artist of the Year category. Her first album drew reviews from outlets such as The Observer and Exclaim!, and one of its singles earned a gold certification in the United States.

Artistry

Stella's music is mostly described as indie pop and pop. Writers have called it R&B-tinged. Her early extended play leaned towards dance-oriented production, and she later released several singles independently.
