Biography

Early life

Felix Lobrecht was born on 24 December 1988. He moved to Berlin as a child and grew up in Gropiusstadt, in the borough of Neukölln, a setting that later shaped much of his writing. He began attending the Hannah-Arendt-Gymnasium in Rudow in 2001 and left it in 2003. He then went to the Clay-Gesamtschule, finishing there in 2005. His route through education was not a straight one: he worked at a gym and at a plant wholesaler, dropped out of an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and of a journalism course, and prepared for the Abitur exams by studying on his own, passing them in 2012. He afterwards studied political science at the University of Marburg.

Career

Lobrecht first became known as a poetry slam performer and, from 2015, as a stand-up comedian. Since 2017 he has appeared only as a comedian. His stage work consists mostly of absurd stories drawn from everyday life, delivered with long pauses and frequent use of Berlin dialect. He has toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Television appearances in 2016, among them the Köln Comedy Nacht XXL and Comedy Champions on RTL Zwei, brought him a wider audience. His first live programme was called "Kenn ick!", and his second, "Hype", ran until 2020.

He has also written books. His first, "10 Minuten? Dit sind ja 20 Mark!", written with the poetry slammer Malte Rosskopf, was published by Satyr Verlag in October 2015. His second, "Sonne und Beton" (Sun and Concrete), appeared with Ullstein Verlag on 10 March 2017 and collects stories and anecdotes about growing up in Neukölln and Gropiusstadt. A film adaptation, "Sun and Concrete", premiered at the Berlinale in February 2023. Lobrecht wrote the screenplay together with the director David Wnendt.

Since September 2017 Lobrecht and the author and television presenter Tommi Schmitt have released a weekly podcast, "Gemischtes Hack". It has been available exclusively on Spotify since September 2019. In 2019 the two also hosted a show on the radio station 1LIVE called "Was machen Sachen?", in which they answered absurd questions and which was published weekly on YouTube. From October 2019 until September 2021 1LIVE released 38 episodes of "Wie geht?" with Lobrecht, in which he is shown everyday objects and has to guess what life hack they could be used for. Since 10 February 2022 he has hosted "1 Live 99 Problems" once a month on the same station. On 12 February 2021 The New York Times published a profile of him, which also ran on the front page of its print edition on 17 February.

In 2025 Lobrecht began producing techno and hip-hop music under the stage name Azzle 447. He performs at festivals together with his record label, the 44 Label Group, and in November 2025 he released the track "Komm" with the rapper Juju.

Recognition

Lobrecht has won 11 awards in total. The Deutscher Comedypreis named him best newcomer in 2018, and in 2020 it honoured him as best comedian, while "Gemischtes Hack" won in the comedy podcast category that year. Further Comedy Prize wins are recorded for 2021 and 2023. He received the 1 Live Krone in 2019 and again in 2020, the second time for "Gemischtes Hack". The audio book edition of "Sonne und Beton" won the audience favourite award of the Deutscher Hörbuchpreis in 2020. For the screenplay of "Sun and Concrete" he won a Bavarian Film Award in 2022, and in 2024 he received two Berliner Bär awards, one of them for the same film.
