Early life

Dhurata Dora was born Dhurata Murturi on 24 December 1992 in Nuremberg, in the German state of Bavaria, into an Albanian family. Structured records list her as a German singer, whereas English-language reference works place her within the Kosovan and Albanian music scene. She attended primary school in Fürth, a city next to Nuremberg, and she took up singing as a young woman, adopting the stage name Dhurata Dora.

Career

Her recording career began in Kosovo. Her first single and music video, "Vete kërkove", appeared in 2011. The following year she worked with Don Arbas on "Get Down", a song that turned out more popular than her debut, and in 2013 she put out "I Like Dat". That summer she had a hit with "Edhe Pak", recorded together with Blunt & Real and Lumi B. A further single, "A bombi", arrived in November 2014, and in spring 2015 she started working with the production company Max Production Albania.

Through the middle of the decade she kept up a steady release pace, issuing a string of singles and frequent duets. Examples include "Bongo" with Capital T in 2016, "Simpatia" with Lumi B in 2017 and "Trendafil" with Flori Mumajesi in 2018.

Her international breakthrough came in April 2019 with "Zemër", a collaboration with the Algerian rapper Soolking. The single reached number one in Albania and entered the charts in Belgium, Switzerland and France, where the Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique certified it platinum. By July 2022 its video had passed 714 million views on YouTube. In February 2020 she joined the German-Albanian rapper Azet for "Lass los", her German-language single, and the two worked together again later that year on "Fajet".

Collaboration remained central to her output. In 2021 she released "Only You" with GIMS and "Mi Amor" with Noizy. In 2022 came "Gajde" with Elvana Gjata and "Adrenalina" with Luciano. She appeared with the Romanian singer Inna and the English rapper Stefflon Don on "Yummy" in 2023.

In March 2023 she released the album Dhurata, which holds sixteen original songs, eight of them recorded with guest artists. In July 2023 she issued "Pa mu", produced by Panda Music, with lyrics and melody credited to Dora, Denk and Tonic. The same month she teamed with the rapper RAF Camora on "Palma". Later in 2023 her German-language work continued with "Genau So", recorded with Bausa.

The next few years brought more partnerships. Her list of releases includes "Chaos" with LEA and "Te Quiero" with Murda in 2024, "Astika" with Dystinct and Mohamed Ramadan in 2025, and, in 2026, "Toka" with DJ Snake and "INAT" with Zeynep Bastık. Across these releases she has sung in both Albanian and German, and music databases classify her work as pop and reggae. Her releases have appeared through Epic Records Germany. Her YouTube channel counted 904,000 subscribers in September 2025.
