Nacho Vidal Spanish Actor Born 1973 in Mataró

Early life

Ignacio Jordà González, who works as Nacho Vidal, was born on 30 December 1973 in Mataró, in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia. Nacho is a common short form of Ignacio. In his youth he moved with his family to Valencia, where part of the family came from. By his own account, the family had once been well off, with textile factories and property, before losing its wealth in the economic downturn of the 1970s, and he left school at 14 to take a job and support them.

As a teenager he played in a punk band. He also boxed and later enlisted in the Spanish Legion, serving in Melilla.

Career

Vidal started in the adult film industry in 1994, when he performed in live shows with his then girlfriend at the Sala Bagdad in Barcelona. At the venue he met José María Ponce, the director of the Barcelona International Erotic Film Festival, who introduced him to film work. He became a protégé of the performer Rocco Siffredi, who took him to the United States in 1998.

Reports credit him with appearances in more than 1,500 productions. From 2000 he also began producing and directing, including titles for the Evil Angel company. Among the films he directed are Back 2 Evil (2003) and Back 2 Evil 2 (2006). He later built his own line of European-shot releases under the name Killer Pussy, in which he both directed and performed, and which gained him an AVN nomination for a scene in a foreign release.

Alongside this work, Vidal has taken parts in Spanish mainstream productions. He appeared in the television series Los simuladores and in the films Va a ser que nadie es perfecto (2006), El alquimista impaciente (2002) and Impávido (2012). Other credits listed for him range from Cellar Dweller 3 (2000), his earliest screen credit on record, to Rawhide (2017), and include the role of Mephisto in Faust: The Power of Sex (2002) and that of the Legatus in Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning (2012). He was also in the Spanish comedy Spanish Movie (2009).

In March 2023 an eight-part Spanish-language series, Nacho, about his life was released in Spain and Latin America, with the actor Martiño Rivas playing Vidal.

Recognition

His honours include an AVN Award for Male Performer of the Year and one for Best Actor (Video), both for 2002, and AVN awards in 2000, 2001 and 2004 for scenes. In the Spanish Ninfa Awards he won Best Actor in 2003 and 2006, among other categories between 2000 and 2008. In 2009 he received the Hot d'Or for Best European Male Performer, and in 2012 he was named Foreign Male Performer of the Year at the XBIZ Awards. He was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2012, and a further XBIZ Award followed in 2013 for a gonzo scene.

Personal life

Vidal has three children. His first daughter was born to his partner at the time, the Venezuelan Rosa Castro Camacho. On 31 May 2005 he announced that he was retiring from the industry and married the Colombian model Franceska Jaimes. They moved into a mansion in the small town of Enguera, in Valencia, that had belonged to his family. The couple separated about six weeks after the wedding, and Vidal resumed his work a few months after announcing his retirement. The couple have two children and divorced in 2015.

In 2019 Vidal, Jaimes and their daughter appeared as subjects of the documentary Me llamo Violeta.
